Chicken Potholder!

I made this for my friend's birthday! I had NO clue what I was doing, so I found & followed the tutorial linked on this page.

Materials & Tools

2 patterned fabrics

cotton batting

needle & thread

sewing machine <3

scissors

pins

Boom! All the fabric pieces CUT and batting PINNED!

(there is a pattern in the video description, but I don't have a printer so I just used it as a reference to draw my own)

I didn't have the iron-on batting that was recommended, so I stitched within the seam allowance to attach the batting to the fabric instead.

Pinned & sewed the wings (finger protectors) to the chicken body pieces.

Look at that pretty stitch my sewing machine lets me do!

I understand how this works. That being said... How Does This Work Help My Brain Hurts.

I think I could've sewed the belly pieces together completely, since its the belly and body opening that's used to turn-out. However... I got scared because I'm not as confident with, how you say, the flipping in and out and switch up that comes with projects like this. So I figured better safe than sorry. I noticed, though, that it felt very messy to hand-sew the closure with the unnecessary (?) opening.
