Electra Poster.jpg

Electra  by Sophocles, adapted by Andy Park

Electra follows the story of Electra as she struggles with the murder of her father, Agamemnon, at the hands of her mother, Clytenmestra, and the new king of Mysine, Ageisthus. The hope of her brother, Orestes, returning home and killing her mother and Ageisthus is the only thing keeping Electra going before the play begins and through the first portion. The (false) news of her brother's death relaxes the queen and sends Electra spiraling, vowing to kill her mother in her brother's stead. However, Orestes returns to Mysine, reveals himself to Electra, and then kills the king and queen when they least expect it.

bowl from stock we used to make this mold -->
took it out and shaped them when still pliable to give each one a unique look, as if hand-made
Materials
wish I could tell ya but I was dumb dumb 19 and didnt think to take notes...
A-B parts hard plastic resin (i know that much!)
paint
hot glue
paint (should have dyed it, I know now)
this point is when I really was just making things up, so bear with me:
1) make a hot glue platform
2) hot glue seal the hot glue platform
3) tape a lip around the opening* and put vaseline where the resin will touch for easier removal
4) mix A/B hard cure/plastic (?) resin and dye it to mimic oil
5) pour onto secured hot glue platform

*opening is for battery powered, short tea candle

Electra's Hairchunk

Pulled by Electra from her own scalp and given to her sister, Chrysothemis, to put on their father's grave instead of her mother's libations.

Trials and tribulations

original urn
"make a backup!" "ok! I just learned vacuforming--hey shop supervisor do you think this will be ok?" "For sure"
It Was Not Ok.
I cried in the bathroom for 5 minutes and then had our shop supervisor go get a vase from the store.

RIP this urn, you were my homegirl. Whoever stole your corpse over the weekend is at the TOP of my list...
